Claridge Homes builds attractive model homes with welcoming sales staff, but post-purchase experience is rocky. Buyers report 100+ defects at possession, sealed windows that leak mould, cracked tile grout, punctured pipes, and unfinished yards. Getting repairs addressed takes years of chasing staff who often ignore calls and emails; Claridge relies on Tarion's two-year window to avoid accountability. Multiple owners warn that the company's friendly pre-sale demeanor vanishes after closing.
Based on limited recent reviews, so treat this as low-confidence.
HN Homes builds model homes with modern design and quality finishes that stand out in the Ottawa market. Reviewers consistently praise premium upgrades included as standard, responsive customer service from named staff like Megan and Gary, and same-day repair response. One older complaint noted the allotment process felt complicated; a reviewer also mentioned a six-month delay.
Reviewers consistently praise Riverside South's floor plan design and name several standout staff members for their care during purchase. However, a substantial minority report serious issues: defects visible in model homes, flooring stains, loose hardware, poor communication after purchase, and warranty work stretching months with unresolved problems. The same builder generates both five-star "best in Ottawa" testimonies and one-star accounts of owners left waiting over a year for repairs.
Urbandale builds solid, energy-efficient homes with quality materials and thoughtful design support, but buyers report inconsistent after-sales service and communication gaps. Some experienced long delays and quality issues with fixtures; others praised staff like Giles and Mario for fixing problems after closing.
